Rattlesnake Ridge corridor clearing moves forward
On Wednesday, July 8, volunteers gave Ute Valley Park’s trails a little more breathing room.
Two crews worked along Rattlesnake Ridge, clearing the trail corridor from the top down and the bottom up. By meeting in the middle, they opened the way for safer, more enjoyable travel through this well-used part of the park.
At Vindicator Valley, the weed crew filled three bags with invasive weeds and seed heads. Volunteers also collected trash at the trailhead, helping keep the area welcoming for everyone who starts a hike there.
There is still plenty of thistle waiting for another workday, along with a bit of finishing cleanup. But each session moves the work forward, and Wednesday’s progress was made possible by dedicated volunteers, including many familiar faces who continue to show up for Ute Valley Park.
Our donation match is still underway. Make a donation to help keep this work moving.
